The gates of Dunfermline's Pittencrieff Park are to be made more appealing as part of a £1.4 million project to improve the area, it has been reported.
Peter Howden, parks development and support officer for the local council, told the Dunfermline Press that entrances to the park are to be spruced up, in particular the gates, while a complete restoration of the gardens in front of the glasshouses is planned.
Dutchman Tim Smit, who was behind the Eden Project in Cornwall, informed the publication that he thought the park should have a "home farm" feel and be a place where young ones can learn about their relationship with nature.
"Most of all I can see the development of a fantastical playground for children that links into the bridges over the gorge - which, of course, doesn't yet exist," he added.
Earlier this month, Fife council announced a new residential home had been established to replace a former children's home at Rimbleton House Children's Centre, which may have included implementation of gates.
