Traditional-style gates have been installed as part of a project to restore Dalzell Estate and Barons Haugh RSPB Reserve.
A £1.5 million partnership initiative has now been completed at the site and the work has also seen walls and gate piers of the gatehouses improved.
The project has been part-funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund with further contributions from North Lanarkshire council and other participating bodies.
"It's an incredibly impressive project and testament to the value the council and its partners place on this beautiful old estate. I'm very much looking forward to exploring it further," commented Helen McKenna, convener of environmental services with North Lanarkshire council.
As well as the gates, enhancements have also been made to the Hamilton Family Mausoleum, while new signage and information panels have been implemented across the site.
Meanwhile, it was recently announced gates are to replace stiles in Shropshire as part of a council-led project.
