Sports clubs may want to install iron gates as Belper Meadows is to look into its security following a number of break-ins at the establishment, it has been reported.
In the most recent attack thieves entered through a window and took off with a safe and bottles of beer and Alcopops.
Now the sports club's committee is looking into various possibilities to heighten security and they have already discussed the implementation of new security cameras and a different alarm system.
"People use the car park for the church and the school, so we're loathe to lock the outside gates but it would stop access," John Morris, the club's treasurer, told the publication.
He added that "it's disappointing ... that it keeps happening" and that it is hard to know what to do.
Earlier this month, Cyril Eggington, the owner of the Royal Hotel, told the Weston Mercury that he was looking to install iron gates after his property was attacked.
