The owner of a hotel in Weston has said he will look to install iron railings and will re-do fencing after his property was vandalised, it has been reported.
Cyril Eggington, the 82-year-old owner, told the Weston Mercury that vandals had kicked down the fencing between the Royal Hotel and the Winter Gardens, and each time it was replaced it was knocked down again.
He may also want to look at getting some high-quality gates put up for extra protection.
"Eventually we will put up iron railings but at the moment we are going to have to replace the damage and get some extra CCTV cameras put in place," Mr Eggington told the news provider.
He added that the thousands of pounds worth of damage was most likely caused by drunk people as the vandalism takes place late at night, the publication revealed.
Earlier this month, a Preston local council said that shutting gates can help stop vandals from committing their crimes after Penwortham Holme East allotments suffered a number of attacks, reported the Lancashire Evening Post.
