Norwich residents urged to beef up home security

Norwich residents are being urged to improve their home security following a serious of thefts, it is reported.

Police in the area say sheds are being targeted by burglars and they are warning homeowners to keep their property secure, the Norwich Evening News states.

Gates and fences should be kept closed and locked at all times, a police spokesman advises.

Items such as bicycles, golf clubs and power tools have been taken by offenders.

Good quality padlocks should be used and all property marked, police add, and an outside security light set up.

This week, homeowners were advised that simple measures such as locking gates can deter lazy criminals looking for an easy way in to their property.

Perimeter fences will also put thieves off and keep homes secure, the Fermangh Herald added.
