Self-closing gates feature in proposals for a revamp of one of Derby's inner-city parks.
The Rowditch Recreation Ground will benefit from a new car park, ball court and play area , as well as fencing to keep dogs out and self-closing gates if the proposals get the go-ahead.
Councillor Mike Carr, cabinet member for direct and internal services at the city's council, told the Derby Evening Telegraph: "[The park] has been in need of some improvement for some time and this play area will hopefully give that."
Other work is also set to be carried out on the park. Such changes include the replacement of a bowling green.
The recreation ground on the Rowditch, just off Uttoxeter Old Road, is one of a number of parks in the city. The country's first open public space, the Arboretum, opened in 1840.
