Appeals from residents in a street in Farnham Common have led to a set of gates being installed to prevent would-be-vandals from gathering in front of them.
The Buckinghamshire Advertiser reported that over a number of years the residents have called on the police, a parish council and a local housing association to have the gates installed.
Problems have been occurring for some time due to acts of vandalism, graffiti and other forms of anti-social behaviour taking place.
All residents in the area have been given a combination to ensure they can keep the gates locked and the vandals out.
Caroline Sampson, police community support officer, told the news provider: "We have been trying to sort this out for a very long time. Repairs were constantly having to be made to the area because of the continual vandalism that was occurring there and the residents were sick of it."
She added that since the gates have been installed there have been no reports of anti-social behaviour taking place.
Meanwhile, the Runcorn & Widnes Weekly reported that several alleyways in Widnes are to have gates installed to stop anti-social behaviour.
