A primary school in Linlithgow has installed a new fence as part of a bid to prevent vandals from causing damage to its property.
The Queensferry Gazette reports that people have been climbing onto the roofs of school buildings and dislodging slates.
Because of this the heavy rainfall seen at the start of the year has led to many of the classrooms and halls suffering leaks.
West Lothian Council decided to ring all of the school buildings with a fence before carrying out any repair work.
Speaking to the newspaper, head teacher Linda Simpson said: "Although one or two people have expressed some concern with regard to the appearance of the fencing, the health and safety of our children is the number one priority and we cannot have classrooms with damaged ceilings and damp carpets."
Ms Simpson added that she hopes the school can work together to enhance the appearance of the fence.
Previously, the Times reported that Rosslyn Park Primary School has a three metre-high wire fence installed to prevent vandals breaking in.
