Time-saving gate launched for farmers

A new gate has been launched by Northern Irish firm Exact which will save farmers time, a news report has claimed.

Farmers Guardian reported that the Auto Quad Gate is a new invention with a locking mechanism which opens once the weight of a quad bike is upon it.

Once the weight is on the gate, then it lowers as a drawbridge and allows the quad bike to drive over it.

The company stated that: "This time and energy saving two-in-one gate is particularly useful for the older, agricultural driver who may find it less easy to mount / dismount the ATV on a regular basis."

It added that the average age of the farmer is on the rise so it is hoping that the product will facilitate ease of movement around a business for years to come.

The product is available to farmers as either a standalone unit priced at £400 or as an 'add-on' which can be incorporated into a wider gate as long as 5.5 metres.
