Motherwell FC will hold a sports dinner as part of their tribute to late captain Phil O'Donnell.
The Hamilton Advertiser reports that it is hoped the event will help to raise money for a permanent memorial to the player, who died while playing in December 2007.
Fans are considering installing a new set of gates at the entrance to the club, or alternatively, having a statue of Mr O'Donnell made.
"We are currently talking to arts groups about what our memorial could potentially look like and obviously we'll be talking to Phil's family to make sure they are happy with what we are doing," said Sandra Aird, secretary of the supporters trust.
The club has already renamed one of the stands in honour of the player and are making provisions to relocate the planned memorial should they move away from their home at Fir Park in the future.
In other developments, the Express and Star has reported that a set of historic gates featuring the earliest example of the Liver bird motif could soon return home to Liverpool.
