A set of steel gates currently being installed at a Devonshire market town have received high praise from council officials, it has been revealed.
Mandy Govier, deputy mayor for Tavistock, has commended work on the new entrance gates at the Meadows park for being carried out "to a high standard", praising the gates for their elegant appearance, the Tavistock Times Gazette reports.
She added: "I think the gates to Meadow's Walk and Abbey Walk are absolutely fabulous - they look fit for royalty."
The gates, which are painted green and are emblazoned with the Tavistock crest, are to replace the existing wooden entrances to the park and are all set to be in place by February 2009.
Built by local firm Steel Tech, the gates project has been financed by Tavistock town council.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that gates and a number of other security measures had been installed at Oswestry's Cae Glas park in a bid to tackle antisocial behaviour.
