Staffordshire residents get new alley gates

Staffordshire residents get new alley gates

25/11/2008

Residents in Furnace road, Normacot will soon benefit from two sets of wrought iron gates limiting access to alleyways that have become a dumping ground for fly-tippers.

According to local paper the Sentinel, the new wrought iron gates will also help to lower instances of antisocial behaviour as only residents will be able to access the alleys.

Tasib Latif, chariman of the Normacot Residents' Association, said: "Since the residents' association was formed two years ago, members have been campaigning for something to be done and thank goodness that is now happening."

He added that the new wrought iron gates will help to boost the look of the area as there will be fewer dumped goods lying around.

Meanwhile, the Chester Chronicle reported earlier this month that residents in nearby Chester are also considering the installation of new alley gates.

It is hoped that doing so will reduce antisocial behaviour in Westminster road, Hoole.
