Avon and Somerset police are calling for witnesses to come forward after a dog was stolen from a garden kennel in Gurney Slade.
In a media statement, police said the incident took place between 18:00 on Tuesday November 18th and O8:30 the following day.
The black and white collie, who responds to the name Dart, was taken from a locked kennel in its owners garden.
It is believed that boltcroppers were used to remove the padlock.
The police urged anyone with information as to the whereabouts of the dog to approach Yeovil police or Crimestoppers.
Elsewhere, residents in Cambridgeshire were warned earlier this month that dognappers have been operating in Eaton Ford.
Victim Nicky Lawrence told the Town Crier that people needed to be mindful of this type of crime after her dog was taken from her garden.
Those wishing to protect their property may wish to invest in new garden gates and fences in a bid to deter criminals.
