The owners of Lava & Ignite, a nightclub in Burnley, are planning to install new wrought iron gates and railings in order to protect its patrons.
According to the Lancashire Telegraph, revellers have been putting their own and others' safety at risk by traversing a 12-foot high glass canopy that overlooks the back terrace of the club in an effort to pay the entrance fee.
"If they were to fall off the wall, it would be about an eight-feet drop onto a concrete floor ... There is also a metal bar there and the consequences could be lethal," said Rachel Ainscough, deputy manager at the club
In order to prevent a potential access, the owners have submitted plans to extend railings have been submitted to Burnley Council.
So too, the club has made proposals to install a set of wrought iron gates at the site, which is a grade-II listed building.
The new gates will be designed to match existing metalwork in pattern and finish.
Lava & Ignite advertises itself on its outdoor terrace access, providing "excellent" facilities for smokers.
