A new set of railings are set to be constructed outside of a school in Tattershall, it has been revealed.
Gartree Community School could soon have railings constructed outside of its exit gates following a highways department meeting at Lincolnshire County Council, reports Horncastle News.
According to the newspaper, councillor Brenda Abbiss reported at a parish council meeting this month that the department had decided to go ahead with plans for the railings.
She added that plans may be extended to incorporate the construction of a central reservation in the road.
Lincolnshire County Council is set to be commended for its road maintenance and improvements at this year's Municipal Journal awards ceremony on June 25th.
The award will be in the Facilities and Asset Management Achievement of the Year category for "effective targeted maintenance of carriageways".
Paul Coathup, assistant director for highways and traffic, said: "We use condition data to inform budget setting so our limited funds are spent wisely and efficiently, providing the best value for money."
