Kidderminster residents given gates advice

People of Kidderminster are being advised to keep their gates locked to stop criminals from getting around the back of their property.

The Kidderminster Shuttle revealed a number of crime prevention measures handed out by the local police force after £1,300 worth of goods was stolen from a home in the area.

Other pieces of advice that the publication gave out included cancelling milk deliveries while away, locking windows and doors as well as encouraging people who are not at home to get their neighbours to park in their driveway.

PC Alastair Howarth told the newspaper: "We believe the thieves may have seen the householders preparing to go away and with the summer holidays looming on the horizon we would urge people to think about their security."
