Troublesome Leicestershire lane 'could get new gates'

A lane in Kirby Muxloe, Leicestershire may have some gates installed as problems have occurred there, it has been reported.

This is Leicestershire has revealed that Glenfield Lane already has gates that stop traffic but a new barrier would prevent cars from parking there.

Francesca Mason, one of the residents who claimed to have been affected, told the publication that men had been playing music from large speakers and couples had been having sex there.

"The other gate just might stop those groups hanging around and I think most people would be in favour of that," she commented.

A county council spokeswoman revealed to the newspaper that with a new gate, those needing to gain access would have their own keys and could lock the gates.

The council announced last month that a new waste treatment site at Cotesbach in Leicestershire is due to open in 2010, where new gates may also feature.
