St Albans couple look to gates approval

St Albans couple look to gates approval

25/05/2009

Councillors from St Albans District Council look set to approve gates for a house on Cunningham Hill Road, it has been revealed.

Mr and Mrs Blavo have applied for a low front wall as well as two hardwood open board gates but are having to deal with objection from neighbours, the St Albans and Harpenden Review has reported.

Neighbours believe that the plans for the gates and the wall, which would also feature seven two-metre high stone piers, are not in keeping with the aesthetics of the street, the newspaper explained.

It noted that the couple's proposals for decorative brickwork piers had previously been denied, but that committee members have now recommended that the plans be given the green light.

Earlier this month, St Albans District Council revealed that a piece of land at Margaret Wix Primary School in High Oaks had been transformed into a new garden, potentially including a gates installation.ADNFCR-1968-ID-19186467-ADNFCR
