Perth and Kinross Council has submitted a bid to gain some of the £60 million Scotland-wide Town Centre Regeneration Fund so it can undertake initiatives in Perth town centre and Coupar Angus, it has been reported.
If the local authority is successful, boundary railings in Atholl Crescent will be reinstated, according to the Perthshire Advertiser, which could suggest gates are to be installed in the area as well.
Council leader Ian Miller told the newspaper: "It is vital that we drive forward these improvements for the long-term good of the area and the council is pleased to lead this bid to the Town Centre Regeneration Fund."
He said that the planned initiatives for Coupar Angus and Perth are "important" and will be a boon for the local economy and environment.
Mr Miller recently claimed that it had been a great year for the council, adding that it has worked hard and has had to make some tough decisions.
