Gates are being used at a train station to stop people using the services without paying.
East Midlands Trains will install the barriers at Derby train station in an attempt to reduce the number of fare dodgers, the Derby Telegraph reported.
The gates will be used from August 17th and put in place on the footbridge and in the main building.
Derby is not the only station to get the extra gates, with Sheffield and Nottingham also getting them, while gates at London's St Pancras station were in place from June 2nd.
Tim Shoveller, managing director of East Midlands Trains, said the effects of the gates have already been seen at the London station, adding that tickets have gone up by a "double digit percentage".
"As well as normal tickets, the number of season tickets sold has also risen, which shows the gates are working," he said.
