New railings are being installed in Bolton, for the third time, after concerns were raised about pathways being used by motorbikes.
Bolton Council has previously moved the railings from the centre of the ginnel between Castlecroft Avenue and Manchester Road to position them on one side, reported the Bolton News.
However, following the move, concern was raised that horses and motorbikes which had not previously been able to use the path would now be able to travel down it.
Local residents complained after the first move of the railings, the newspaper reported, saying the path was now being used as a cut-through.
This led to a recent council meeting agreeing to revert the railings to their original position.
David Wagstaff, public rights of way officer for Bolton Council, told Blackrod Town Council that the railings would be moved shortly.
Bolton is not the only city to get new-look railings, with Perth and Kinross Council recently deciding on black railings for the Queen's Bridge in time for the Perth 800 celebrations.
