An estate in Peterborough may have some gates introduced to close off alleyways as Cross Keys Homes is looking to get residents opinions, it has been reported.
The firm has written to those living in Crabtree, Paston about blocking three alleyways with security gates so that people can feel safer, according to the Peterborough Evening Telegraph.
A spokeswoman from Cross Keys Homes told the newspaper that the project was in its early stages but it will help to fight against antisocial behaviour.
"This is phase two of our environmental work, with phase one covering parking and extra street lighting. Alleyway closures will help reduce antisocial behaviour. There are also plans for landscaping," she revealed.
The spokesperson added that the police's architectural liaison is also helping out with the proposals.
It recently emerged that alley gates are set to go up in Carlisle in a bid to improve safety in the chosen communities.
