New gates and railings are being installed on the front of properties in Rochdale, creating an aesthetically pleasing look in the borough's neighbourhoods, it has been reported.
It forms part of the Housing Market Renewal programme, while the contractors responsible for the work have cleaned and repainted garden walls, according to Rochdale Online.
Bernard Ward of Reservoir Street in Belfield told the news provider that he was pleased with the work that had been completed thus far.
"The works have made a big difference to my house and a big improvement to the way the area looks," he said.
Mr Ward added that new gutters and fascias had been introduced to his own property and he has also got a new garden wall with iron railings.
In other positive local news, the borough council reported that seven parks in the area had been given Green Flag status, perhaps because of their aesthetic appeal and attractive gates.
