A planning inquiry has taken place near Sleaford to decide if travellers can keep a new site on the outskirts of a village, with issues surrounding gates involved, it has emerged.
Planning permission applicants for the site north of Fallows End, Stragglethorpe Lane, Fulbeck had said that access was good and the entrance would be set well back with gates and fences, according to the Sleaford Standard.
The hearing was held at Fulbeck Village Hall by a government planning inspector to discuss a planning appeal made by Tim Bower over a South Kesteven District Council decision to turn down planning permission, the newspaper revealed.
Applicants also argued that the traditional old English Romani gypsy families require a permanent place to stay when not travelling around the country, the paper reported.
South Kesteven District Council recently announced that the Regional Assembly has launched a major consultation as part of a Review of the East Midlands Regional Plan.
This may include consultation on property developments, such as gates improvements, as new housing provision is a concern of the plan.
