Allerton Bywater Rugby Club to get gates funding

Allerton Bywater Rugby Club to get gates funding

17/08/2009

Allerton Bywater Rugby Club is to receive funding for some entrance gates as well as fencing around its pitch and floodlighting, it has been reported.

It comes after £26,000 of funding was provided for certain community projects in Allerton Bywater with changes to the village including enhancements to allotments, the Yorkshire Evening Post has revealed.

Fencing is to be installed in the village to stop people parking on a grassed area, while kitchens at the Old School are to be upgraded, the publication noted.

Councillor Andrew Carter, executive member for development and regeneration at Leeds City Council, told the newspaper: "These community projects and clubs, currently running in Allerton Bywater, already have a hugely positive impact on the local community and give a great deal back to the area."

The city council recently invited those that want to grow their own fruit and vegetables in Leeds to visit allotment sites at Greenthorpe in Bramley and Reservoir as well as Haigh Road in Rothwell.

It was to form part of National Allotment Week.ADNFCR-1968-ID-19318203-ADNFCR
