Railings provided the backdrop for various pieces of art at an event in Southend recently, it has emerged.
The Art on the Railings showcase, organised by not-for-profit organisation Art Spot, was held at Pier Hill where local artists were able to show off their works, the local Echo newspaper revealed.
Marie Antoniou, founder of the Art Spot, told the publication: "It's a great family event because it gives parents the chance to see artists at work and admire the displays.
"Kids can be inspired by it and make their own wonderful creations."
The news provider reported that some local artists held demonstrations and workshops at Art on the Railings and children were given the opportunity to design their own carnival masks.
In other local news, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council announced that the Thriving Centre Place Family Centre in Prospect Close was due to open this month, where new gates could be seen.
