A young deer has been rescued by firefighters from a metal gate in Tottington, Lancashire after it became stuck.
The trapped animal was spotted by a pair of dog walkers on Saturday (September 26th), who called the fire brigade to help, This Is Lancashire reports.
A rescue team used specialist cutting equipment to release the baby deer from the metal gates.
"We think the deer had been making its way through the fields toward Tottington and got its body part way through the railings but not its back legs so it was wedged in," crew commander Tony Wilson from Bury Fire Station told the paper.
It is the second deer to be rescued by firefighters in the region in recent times, after one became trapped in a gate near Smithills Dean Road last week.
The news follows reports in the Henley Standard that plans to fence off a Henley common for cattle grazing have met with opposition from some local residents.
