Elderly, disabled or low-income residents in Somerset may be set to get some new garden gates after a third tradesman joined South Somerset District Council's Handyman service.
The service assists those who are unable to carry out essential household tasks by providing workmen at discount prices, the Yeovil Express reports.
And the team has been bolstered by the arrival of Steve Pittard, who will join Bruce Denney and Stuart Foster as its third member.
"It is the small jobs such as fitting smoke alarms, completing minor repairs or replacing garden gates," councillor Ric Pallister told the paper.
"By calling on South Somerset District Councils Handymen service they know they will get things done by reliable workmen they can trust in their homes."
A £3.2 million investment for new rural affordable homes in south Somerset was recently announced, which may prompt the installation of new gates and railings in the area.
